How Daddy Has Changed ...

For those of you that do not know St. Louis baseball, the Cardinals - Cubs games are by far the most sought after tickets around. Well, we got tickets! Daddy put on his Bob Gibson jersey and he dressed Maddie in her pink and white Cardinals uniform. They were ready. We found a good parking spot and got there in the top half of the first. It was great ... until people started cheering. Maddie's new little ears did not take the noise very well. A combination of the noise, the lights and the fact that it was almost bedtime cause the saddest face in the world. I ran to the Cardinals store to find some earmuffs and found a little hat with ear flaps.

We tried that, but the sad face kept coming back. We tried everything, but in the end, the only thing that helped was daddy flying her around the inside of the stadium.

As we were walking out, Daddy said that we should get Maddie a bear from the Build-A-Bear store. Who is this man? HE wants to go to Build-A-Bear? More than that, he was the one that walked Maddie through the steps. Summer, this is for you:

Step 1: Pick out your animal

She chose the brown bear (although they almost got a pink bear ... really!) and they made him sing "Charge" when you squeeze him.

Maddie loved him at right away.

Next, you have to add the stuffing. Maddie pushed with all her might (and body weight) on the pedal.

Then she picked his heart (a solid red one) ...

... and kissed it before they put it in his body.

Maddie and Daddy caught a little of the game while they dressed the bear in the Card's uniform that they picked out. Daddy also decided he needed shoes since he had socks. He has little cleats!

Then they had to name him.

(His name is Malcolm Bridgington III in case you could not read it ... Daddy was a little sleep deprived.)

Finally, Malcolm was dressed and Maddie thought he looked perfect!

All in all, we probably saw an inning of the game, but we still had a great time.

Maddie flew home ...

... she loves her daddy. What a good daddy.
