Happy Birthday Daddy!

It was Nick's birthday weekend, so Aunt Katie and Uncle Ryan came in town for a visit. Mommy took a personal day at work and we had a bunch of fun playing with Maddie.

In the morning, Maddie dressed Katie up like a princess (Katie, formerly known as "Princess Sarah," loved this).

She then sat and read her photo book with Uncle Ryan.
She handed out lots of love to everyone.
Then she and Ryan had some toast with jam and a little Dora.
We all got dressed and went to the Arch on a beautiful Fall day. Katie taught Maddie how to walk like a princess.
Ryan then secured the baby in the stroller, as per Madeleine's demands.
Maddie then got a ride on Uncle Ryan's really high up shoulders.

She was almost as tall as the arch!

Maddie touched the cold Arch. She really liked it.
We tried to get photos in front of the Arch ... and this is what we got:




OK. So ... taking this photo makes me a bad mom. Putting this photo on the blog makes me a terrible mother. Katie told me NOT to put it on the blog, but every time I look at it, I laugh. There is nothing cuter than baby plumber crack.

Then we made Daddy's birthday cupcakes. Maddy insisted that Daddy wanted pink cupcakes, so that is what he got. Maddie and Ryan decorated them. They were delicious!

At dinner, Maddie and Katie played silly games as we waited for a table.Maddie also had her toes painted purple by Katie.
