Moving and Mother's Day

Moving day arrived sooner than I think we were ready for.  The big truck showed up ready to be filled!

Again ... Maddie helped pack.  I have no idea what is in this box.  Something important I am sure.

On moving day morning, a new friend showed up on our kitchen counter.  Her name was Melrose (like our street) and was there to be Maddie's moving buddy.

Who calls you and asks if they can help you move ... Donna ... that' who!  It was so much help having Donna and Megan to help with the loading.  I think there is a lot of thinking going on in this picture.

Maddie and Grandpa helped guard the stuff.  They were excellent supervisors.

A much needed break...

Evelyn loved having Grandpa Mitchell there to hold her and sing to her all day.  It was so sweet.

They hung out on the front porch too just watching the world around them.  I love this picture!

We got moved into our rental house.  Not much changed ... iPad in the morning on Mommy and Daddy's bed ... much earlier than we would like ... but sweet nonetheless.  :)

For Mother's Day, Daddy continued the tradition ... a ball game with my family. We missed the train by seconds but we made the most of it and got this fabulous family photo.  This may be my all time favorite picture.

Daddy and his girls

Evelyn slept through a lot of the game.

Mmmmmm ... my annual bacon wrapped hot dog.  Thank you Daddy!

Mommy and her girls

Evelyn LOVES Maddie so much.  She gets the biggest smiles and laughs.  Maddie can make her smile any time.  It is really one of the sweetest things in the whole world.

(here she is laughing at Maddie again ... this picture cracks me up!)

Evelyn made it to a Cardinals game before we moved.  I have a similar picture of Maddie at about this age ... only she has a huge binki in her mouth.  :)

We came back that afternoon to finish up the packing.
Putting the doors on ...

It's official!  We have sold the house.  Wow.

The last toy to leave the playroom.  The playroom was my favorite room.  It is where Maddie took her first steps and where Daddy got in touch with his feminine side.  :)  It was wonderful watching Maddie grow and change in that room and then seeing Maddie have a sister to play with was even better.  It always had the best light.  A friend suggested framing this picture to put in our next playroom.  I thought that was a beautiful idea.

We decided to have our last dinner at Melrose on Monday night (closing on Tuesday).  We had burgers and milk shakes on a box where our dining room table stood.  It was bitter sweet.

Maddie's room.

This was our first house.  It will always be my favorite.  It is where our marriage began, had two beautiful children, major career events, made life long friends, laughed, cried and made the most amazing memories.  We love you Melrose.  You were a great house!
