Somehow our baby is 7. It happened in a blink. It was a perfect weekend! The daisies were out so we got a cute sister shot. :)
And mommy and her girls.
Pop Pop, Suze, and Zsa Zsa all came in town for the big celebration. I love this photo.
On Saturday, we had Maddy's swim party with all her friends. They swam for 2 hours! Maddy also climbed to the top of the rope swing a million times! She is so strong! Nick took this video and it was the first time she made it to the top. I went to get her a little while later and she climbed all the way to the top without a pause. Wow.
Then we came in for Star Wars cupcakes, snacks and some face painting.

So ... Evelyn swam for 2 hours too ... and boy did she play! She jumped and kicked and splashed and jumped and went down the slide 3 times and jumped and splashed and jumped and jumped. She loved it so much! Well ... she was worn out! When it was her turn to get her face painted, the girl told her to put her head back and close her eyes so she wouldn't get paint in her eyes. The poor thing fell asleep instantly. It was hysterical. We were all standing around in disbelief. It was so incredibly cute ... and unbelievable. This kid NEVER sleeps!
Pop Pop and his girls (the three little ones have matching Elsa crowns)
We went out to dinner after the party. Evelyn and Caroline were so super cute!!
So ... the gift from Mommy and Daddy was a doll house for Maddy's Barbies. It looked WAY smaller online. It was a little out of hand.
The next day, Caroline and Campbell came over for a morning play date! It was amazing!!! So much princess fun!!!
Lunch
Maddy came home from her slumber party with Pop Pop and Suze and started babysitting.
She really did take over. The little girls did everything she said!
That night we all went out to dinner. It was a Hawaiian themed birthday so we all had leis. Evelyn put on all 11!!
Maddy's flip flop cake with cake ball umbrellas.
Happy birthday to you!!!
Time for presents and more presents! Thank you everyone for all the gifts! She LOVED them all!!
This is the most amazing photo ever taken. 11 people. 4 children. 3 are 3 and under. We are all looking, smiling, and look great! It was the only photo we took and it was on the timer. How in the world?! Amazing! Love this picture!
If you can believe it ... it is only just NOW Maddy's actual birthday! She is 7! She is holding up 3 and 4 fingers rather than 5 and 2 because that is another way to show 7. :) Love it!
We went and picked Maddy up from school at lunchtime and drove out to the beach. Summer and Andrew rented a house right on the beach and so we all came out for a birthday night. The girls were so excited!
We all went out to lunch. I told the waitress that it was Maddy's birthday. They came out singing really loud and clapping and Maddy had a huge smile on her face because it was funny. Then she realized they were singing Happy Happy Birthday to her and her face dropped like she was going to be sick and she hid behind me. It was truly one of the funniest things we have ever seen. I wish I had a video! Happy birthday (again) Maddy!
After lunch we headed to the beach!
Maddy wanted to get in the COLD water. We told her no because we didn't want the little ones following her. Uncle Andrew said "Maddy, you want me to show you how to get in the water?!" and so the two of them took off down the beach to go get up to no good. Is there anything more fun than an uncle?! They are cool and help you get into trouble ... and you don't get in trouble because your uncle said you could! It is AWESOME!
Caroline and I could be hair twins at the beach! I love it!!
It was a little chilly!
Maddy had enough of the beach and was ready for the hot tub!
I mean come on people. Does it get much better than this?! Life is good. :) Happy birthday Maddy!
Suze volunteered to get in the hot tub with the little ones. Thanks Suze! Our hero!
Sweet pic!
OK. So ... we had to sing one more time. We didn't have cake or cupcakes but we did have Voodoo doughnuts! So ... happy very Portland birthday Maddy!
The next morning, we all headed back home. There were lots of snuggles.
We got some beautiful pictures of the girls in matching dresses and bows! So sweet!
Happy birthday Maddy! It was a wonderful weekend!!! We love you so much!!!
