Yeah!! Daddy finally made it to New Zealand!! Maddie woke up and saw her daddy. She looked at him, looked at me, looked at him and got a sleepy smile on her face. She did not let go of him for the first few hours! Does she look happy or what?!
Sadly, that night we went up to Paihia (the Bay of Islands) for a day trip. Here are a few photos from our deep sea fishing trip.
I caught a 78cm yellow tail kingfish! My arms were so tired! They put up a real fight!
Nick's fish lost his body to a shark. Yes ... a shark! That is how many of us lost fish. My first fish was pulling like crazy ... turned out the poor guy was being eaten by a shark ... I was just holding him still. :(
We got home the next day and Maddie and Daddy picked up where they left off.
Nice photo with the beer in front, huh!?
Daddy found a nice place to sit. Beer in hand ...
She and Amy had a little cuddle. She kept trying to get her flower!
Maddie found some cat food to get into.
On Sunday, we got packed up and got on the ferry to head over to Waiheke Island. You can see the top 4 teeth Miss Maddie is getting in this photo.
Here is the front of the bach. It has a great front deck. Nick keeps talking about wanting a beach house just like this one one day ... I am find with that!
That night, we took Maddie to the beach in her special UV suit.
She loved the sand! She picked up each grain of sand and handed them to us. Then she started to eat it. We thought she would hate that ... turns out she LOVED the sand. Kept eating it ... and eating it ... even when we stopped her she kept going! She grabbed Daddy's hand and started eating it off his hand. I can't think of anything worse ... she loved it though!
See Maddie's trail in the sand. Not quite footprints, but a trail nonetheless.
After Aunty Amy took a nice shower, Maddie wanted a big, wet, sandy hug! She couldn't resist, though!
Then we had some play time ... in the nude! Ask us if we miss the St. Louis winter waiting for us at home?
The next day ... simply repeat! Maddie loves the water. She loves the waves and wants to keep going back in!
Then Maddie sat in the water and played with the sand. She found some nice shells and tasted the sand again. Turns out, it is just as good as it was yesterday!
The next day, Maddie and Nana played under the tree in the front yard.
Maddie wore her shades.
Daddy, Amy and I walked up to a vineyard and had a sample of some nice wines.
Then Maddie played with her other Nana ... so many people to play with.
I have a great video but have to catch the bus back to the beach now. Will try to upload it tomorrow.
