An Update

I am sorry to say, this blog entry will not have any photos or funny videos. :( I did want to update Maddie's fans, though, since I have not posted anything all week.

It has been a pretty slow week ... finally! We did a lot of hanging out at home, went and had lunch with a friend, did a little shopping, and just sort of enjoyed spending some quiet time together. Nick did not work much this week and so we had a lot of time together as a family, too.

Maddie loves coming into our bed in the morning and playing silly games. We turned our blanket into a tent the other morning and she flipped out! She kept going under and blowing raspberries for some reason. I think our time together in the big people be in my favorite time of day. All three of us are together and just laugh and laugh and laugh.

Maddie has also taken to chasing us down and grabbing our legs. She holds on and stick her head through our legs. She laughs a whole lot ... and so we do too! She cracks us up. Today, while trying to pack, she chased me around for about 30 minutes! She has now gone down for a good, long nap, I would say!

This afternoon, we are headed to our first swim class at Little Fishes Swim School. I am excited to see how Maddie does. She loves her baths and really liked the ocean in New Zealand. We will go every Saturday for the next 10 weeks - pretty serious, huh?! The pool is salt water, which sounds interesting. It is better for their lungs, skin, and better for the environment. It is 90% less salty than the ocean, but the salt keeps the water free from bacteria. Cool, huh?! It is also heated to 90 degrees, so I will like it. Nick's little clone might get hot, of course! :)

After that, we are headed to the airport to catch a flight to Houston. Daddy left yesterday to go driving (vroom, vroom) and is coming back on Tuesday. Maddie and I will spend some time with her great grandparents, her grandparents, her Aunty Katie, Aunty Vanessa and Link. I am really looking forward to the trip. It has been a while since we have been to Houston. I don't know how the flight is going to go, though. This will be our first flight since Maddie learned to walk. I can almost hear all of the veteran parents laughing as they read this. I know I am in for a real treat, here. Who knows ... maybe she will be a perfect angel?! I will have lots of food (since it will be dinner time, anyway) and bought a few new toys to entertain her. I am hoping she will be tired from swimming and just fall asleep. She is too big for her baby car seat, so I will just have to hold her. Wish us luck!!! Maddie and I will be back on Wednesday (yes, we are flying in one day after Daddy and flying back one day after Daddy ... don't ask me why I am choosing to do this flight by myself, but there it is!).

I will update Maddie's blog from Houston if I can (I am not bringing my computer - just one less thing to take out at security). If I don't get to it in Houston, I will have it up by the end of the week. Have a wonderful weekend!
