A Wedding Weekend

I know this is super late. If you can believe it, I uploaded all of these photos last week when we got home, but just did not get around to writing about it. Oh well. Busy, busy!

So, our story actually begins on Wednesday at 3:07PM. I received my first phone call at work from Maddie's school. No, she had not led all the other children in a revolt against the teachers with "Meng" as their battle cry (although I am sure I will get that call one day soon), but that my poor baby was running a fever of 102.4. Very sad. :( I went and got her and she went to bed early. The next day, a very sleepy daddy had the day off (to sleep) and stayed home with Maddie (who did not sleep ... at all ... all day!). I came home to a stuffy, snotty baby and a very sleepy daddy (he went to bed at 6PM!). On Friday morning, we all hopped on a flight down to Dallas. We gave Maddie some meds to help with the pressure ... poor thing. :(

She and Daddy worked on the Sudoku (she is much faster than Daddy),

drank a little milk,

started getting sleepy and found Momma's favorite spot on the airplane,

fought sleep and read a magazine,
and finally passed out in her Daddy's arms. They looked so sweet!

We hopped in the car and drove from Dallas to Wichita Falls. Maddie was awake the whole way there and did a great job! We got to WF and went right to the rehearsal at the church. Maddie had a very important part in the wedding - the cutest flower girl ever! She ran down the aisle several times (a flat out run) and had a lot of fun playing on the steps.

She hammed it up for her grandmas ... who just ate it all up! I have never heard so many ooohs and ahhs in my life!

We went to the rehearsal dinner where Maddie, having only slept for 30 minutes on the flight, stayed up until 10:00 that night. She was the life of the rehearsal. I have video of Maddie and daddy giving a toast to Aunt Summer, but I can't find it! I will keep looking. I have too many cameras!

The next morning, Daddy went off to play "golf" and Maddie and her grandma had some fun relaxing in the swing.

Then Maddie had a little quiet time and read in the big bed for a little bit,

took a nap, and got ready for her big night!

We got to the church and got Maddie and Daddy dressed. They both looked wonderful!

Maddie just loved the flowers. The photographer has some INCREDIBLE photos of Maddie. We are going to order a few and then I will make sure everyone sees them. They are just beautiful!

At the end of the wedding, Maddie sat on the steps and watched everyone leave. She is just such a little cream puff!
She tried to take her shoes off,

she posed a little bit (what a cutie!)

she clapped for everyoneand then waved goodbye!
We loaded her in the car (dress and all) and watched as our poor, sick baby fell asleep on our way to the reception. Luckily, the groom's mom had organized a babysitter for us (what a saint!) and we dropped Maddie off and went and danced all night. We wish she could have danced with us, but she needed the sleep.

The next day, we had a wonderful breakfast and then headed back to Dallas to catch our flight. Maddie was tuckered out. It was a long weekend full of fun and family. She slept most of the way to Dallas and some of the way to St. Louis.
Maddie has started putting her flat lamb over her face when it is too bright. Some mornings when I got and wake her, she will ignore me and put Flat Lamb on top of her face to block the light. It cracks me up!
