Halloween #2

Nick, Maddie and I all headed down to Dallas for a very special weekend!

Our flight got in late, but we headed right over to visit with Uncle Jorge, Aunt Carrie and Maddie's cousin Annabel. We wanted to wish her a very happy 6 month birthday! She was so cute and just too sweet! I held her for about half an hour ... it was just wonderful! Maddie came and sat with us while we snuggled.

Aunt Carrie flipped when she found out Maddie was going to be Darth Vader for Halloween (yes, Darth Vader ... see story below). She went and found an old mask in her Halloween trunk (one of many!) and Maddie loved it!
... so did Daddy.

We had to say goodbye went home and had a nice big sleep at Grandma and Grandpa Hamilton's house. The next morning (Halloween ... yeah!) we woke up and Maddie put on her Trick or Treat shirt and Jack-o-Lantern socks and got ready to meet Grandma Ankle for some shopping!

Maddie loved the toy truck ... as long as we did not turn it on. She did not like them when they moved!
After a nice morning with Grandma, we went home for a little nap (some football) and then got ready for a big night.

So ... the costume ...
This is our little sweetie last year ... it does not get much cuter than this. I was not going to try and top this outfit, but I found a really great pumpkin costume. It had a little beret and everything. Just gorgeous. I figured this year would be the last one where I could choose the outfit and I really wanted to see her as a pumpkin, but our little girl had other plans ...
... I showed it to Maddie when we got home. She has not really started talking much yet, but she sure can communicate. She looked at the pumpkin outfit and walked over to her Darth Tater took his helmet off and put it on her own head. She then took the helmet and put it over her mouth and started breathing heavily into it. Seriously. Fine. You can be Darth Vader.

Oooh! Candy!

Nick and I got dressed up ... cute family photo, huh?!I had to put this up. Could not pass it up. I must share my husband's cuteness with the world!
Maddie and her Grandpa Tom had a great night together passing out candy to trick-or-treaters. He told us that she would look around the corner to see if anyone was coming and would help him when they arrived. She is just so cute!

The next morning we woke up and Maddie was in a feisty mood after her Halloween. Maybe it was the mouthful of chocolate she scored by accident or the Darth Vader costume, but Maddie decided she was in charge. She grabbed me by the shirt and started dragging me around the house!
Later, as Grandma Susan was putting away her Halloween decorations, she found the cutest decoration of all! Maddie climbed into one of the boxes and had a great time hiding from us. She loves scaring us!
