Maddie Turns 4!

Somehow, our little baby has turned 4.  She is getting so big and it just becoming her own little person. Maddie's birthday was on a Friday.  She wore a very special birthday outfit to school - "Happy Birthday to Me" sparkle shirt, sparkle tutu, purple tights and sparkle shoes.

Maddie asked if I could bring cupcakes with rings on them to her school for her birthday.  I said of course and took the whole day off to be a mom.  It was very special.  I brought the cupcakes and party favors (thank you Summer for putting those together!!) to school.  Maddie was so excited!  She has been looking forward to her birthday for a long time.  I think it is because all of her friends have been turning 5 and she has been 3 the whole time.  Anyway, they sang her happy birthday and devoured the cupcakes.  Here is Maddie with her BFF Janae.

Maddie's cousin (and Summer and Andrew, of course) Caroline came in town for Maddie's party!  Maddie was over the moon.  She could not wait to hold Caroline.  I love this picture.  Maddie looks so big!  Caroline could not be cuter ... look at those legs!  I love it!

The Hamilton ladies.

That night, Maddie opened her gift from Mommy and Daddy.  She got a new big girl bike.  There must be other children out there like our child.  It is a pink princess bike with a baby seat in the front for a princess doll ... really ... they have Cinderella on the picture.  She was really excited.  She said that the box says that it is only for people who are 4 and since she is 4 now, she can have it.  It is NOT for 3 year olds.  :)

Maddie had asked for a tea party.  I figured I would try and make a tea pot cake.  I did a little tester to see what it would be like and well - it was a disaster.  I was freaking out about it when someone asked - is a tea pot cake what Maddie wants?  I had not ever asked her!  When we asked, she said she wanted a Hello Kitty cake.  Yeah for Mommy!  Much easier!!!  Tah-Dah!

Maddie and Summer decorated the cupcakes.

The tester cake did not end of being a total loss - we turned them into cake balls ... and they disappeared almost as fast as we could make them.
The table was set ...

The piles of presents arrived ...

And Mommy put everyone to work on this year's craft.  Last year it was make your own crown.  This year it was show your talent making a tea cup (mug).

It became a pretty intense process.

Then it was time for the cake!

Maddie is still very shy and was not sure what she thought of everyone singing for her.

Addison helped blow out the candles.

Let's eat!

Here are the mugs.  Pretty talented group!

Presents, presents and more presents!

Then it was time to try the bike out.  The newest baby got to ride in it first.

The next day, Maddie got all dressed up for her Cinderella tea at the Magic House (last year it had a Belle theme).  She was so excited to go!
Maddie and ZsaZsa made a crown ...
The girls ...
The best part was that Maddie's bestfriend Janae joined us at the tea.  They were so cute together in their matching Cinderella dresses.

They got to meet Cinderella and get her autograph.

They were not sure about Prince Charming ... but eventually allowed him to sign their cards.

Maddie then wanted a picture with him.  (I asked her later in the day what her favorite part of her birthday was and she said Prince Charming ... uh oh!)

The Fairy Godmother ....

After the tea, the girls went around the Magic House playing and having so much fun.  Here they are at the ice cream shop.
The grocery store.  They took turns being the checker and the customer.
They went up to the nursery and took care of the babies.

Finally, after SEVERAL hours of fun, we had to say goodbye.  They are too cute together.  Thanks for a great day, Janae!!!
