We were so excited to go to Dallas for the Fourth of July weekend! We flew down and had a special surprise for daddy. We headed out for a family dinner and ended up having a surprise end of fellowship party for Nick instead. We were so excited to have so many friends and family come out to help us celebrate Nick and all of his hard work. I forgot to take pictures! Thanks Tom for remembering!!
The next morning was the 4th so we all put on our red, white and blue. It was so fun playing and being silly with everyone all together!
The little ones LOVED the paddle pool.
That night, we went to Royal Oaks for some fun and fireworks. We had such a wonderful time!!
(Evelyn decided that Summer was her mom. She followed her around all weekend - it was SO cute!)
A roodie noodie bottom goes MUCH faster down the slide! They were like this most of the weekend.
We had a fun BBQ over at Pop Pop and Suze's house. We got the girls back together again. They have grown a lot in 3 years!!
On Tuesday, we went to the Arboretum in matching outfits. Time for a photo shoot!!
Maddy has been working VERY hard at a program called XtraMath. If she did her math every day until we left for Dallas she would earn an American Girl doll. She had to do it EVERY day ... and she did! She is getting better and faster at her facts too! :)
So - Tuesday was the big day! Before we headed to the airport, we went to the mall and Maddy was excited!
She reads the catalogs and knows every detail. It was fun getting to walk around and see it in person!
They even have a hair salon ... for the dolls. Wow.
Maddy even got a matching outfit with her new doll! So cute!
Couldn't be happier! You earned it Maddy!!!
We couldn't leave without a trip to the bistro. We had some sweets and then headed to the airport.
After three trips around DFW we finally figured out where to go in! Wow. It is a huge place!! I was worried my bag was over 50lbs. I had half a pound to spare! Phew!
The girls did a pretty good job on the flight. I was shocked when we flew over Mt. Hood. We have had very little snow this year but I didn't know it was this bad.
Maddy wanted to leave her doll in the box while we flew. When we got home, though, she was ready to get her out. She was so happy. She decided to pick a doll that looked like her instead of one of the dolls with a name already. She has named her Rachel (no idea where that came from).
We had SUCH a great time with everyone!! Thank you for a great trip!!!

What a wonderful trip! Leave it to Maddie's teacher mom to infuse Xtra Math into the trip, LOL! Your family is precious 💜!
That was an emoji heart by the way, not 2 question marks. #emojifail
Ha ha! It showed up as a heart when the comment was emailed to me. So funny! Yes - poor kids have a teacher mom. If your report card says you need help on subtraction, well ... then we will work on subtraction until you are a pro at it! Poor thing.
