Nick had a conference in San Antonio, so Maddie and I thought we would tag along for a Texas style birthday. It was actually Fiesta in San Antonio (a week of parades!) ... I guess to celebrate Maddie's birthday.
Daddy woke up early and went off to be a doctor and Maddie and I walked to meet Katie and Nanny at their hotel. Maddie looked super cute in her hat.

She gave Nanny big loves ...

Then, Maddie and Katie went out on the balcony and played with Maddie's new dolly.

Is this the cutest face you have ever seen?

We had a wonderful day playing around the town and then got changed for dinner. We went for a fancy dinner on the River Walk.

Does this photo say parent of the year or what?!

Maddie loved the chocolate cake.

... so did Katie?

We had a wonderful day in San Antonio. The next morning, we woke up and headed over to the fancy hotel again for breakfast. Maddie loves eggs.

She loves them so much that it looks like we never feed her at all:
After breakfast, Teddy arrived. They were both very happy to see each other. Teddy had a little gift for his girl.

After we all got cleaned up, we all (including Daddy) went to the Alamo.

While we waited, Nanny and Maddie traded glasses.

We took the necessary Texas family portrait. Remember the Alamo!

Katie and Maddie looked at the ducks ...

... and ran around the park.

Then we took a little break and looked at the 6 flags that flew over Texas.

Then Maddie practiced for toddlers gone wild. She loves doing this ... all the time.

After the Alamo, Maddie went back to the hotel for a little nap. That afternoon, we all went to the San Antonio Children's Museum for some fun out of the heat. First we played with some bubbles.

Then Maddie made a bubble around her body (pretty cool!)

Then (it appears) that Nick and I continued to play with the bubbles without our child. If you look, though, she is there ... although I would not be surprised if it had just been us ... it is fun being a parent ... we not have an excuse for playing games again.

Then Maddie played the Xylophone.

and banged on the symbols.

Then a little peek-a-boo ...

After the museum, we took an ice cream break at Haggen Daz ... it was good!

After a long day, we went out for a wonderful dinner.

It was a wonderful birthday in Texas. So ... will we have to have 3 birthday parties for her 3rd birthday? 3 locations? I guess we will see.
