Maddie, Daddy and I were so excited to head down to the beach for a few days with Grandpa Tom and Grandma Susan. The weather was beautiful the whole time and we had such a great time.
We arrived late that afternoon and had a relaxing afternoon. We went out for a delicious fish dinner and Maddie had her first big girl drink - a strawberry daiquiri with whipped cream and a cherry.

Maddie tried on Grandma Susan's swim suit and looked super cute in it!

Then she tried on her special new swim suit. It has a built in floaty. We decided to try it out in the pool with Grandpa Tom.

It was fun swimming with Grandpa. Maddie was a little nervous at first but kicked and kicked and did a great job.

Maddie loved sitting on the pink float the best, though.

After a nice swim, Maddie sat in her special Maddie chair Grandpa Tom and Grandma Susan bought her. It was, of course, a gold and black tiger chair. Maddie loved it!

She also loved Grandma Susan's hat.

... and Grandma Susan.

The next day, Maddie went swimming again but in her regular swim suit. Maddie also borrowed a frog float and REALLY loved using it.

Maddie then showed off her belly roll skills. Very funny.
Maddie then had a very special treat. Grandma Susan painted her toe nails pink for the first (of many, I am sure) time. She LOVED it. It was all she talked about for the next ... well, she still says "feet pink."

Oh, and they fed her grapes by hand, as well ... seriously. A lot of deprogramming will be happening soon.

Very happy with her toes.

The next morning, we did just about the same thing we had done the last two days. Maddie got new shades and her own float. She was pretty happy with the situation.

Momma was reading on the beach chair, so Maddie wanted to do the same.

Oh, it is a hard life, but someone has to do it, I suppose.

After a nap, we went down to the beach to build more sand castles. I did not bring my camera yesterday because I was worried about getting it wet or dirty. This is from my iPhone.

Here is a video of Maddie adding drizzle decoration to the sand castle just before she smashes it. I love the way she cleans her hands before smashing the castle. She is a bit of a neat freak. At the end, you can see what a terrible person I am. I was not thinking and asked her to blow kisses ... but her hands were covered in sand. Poor baby!
That afternoon, we got an afternoon island storm. Maddie and Grandpa Tom and Grandma Susan sat out on the porch and enjoyed the view.

After the storm, Maddie and Gaga went to feed the birds ("caa caa mmmm"). Maddie LOVED that.

Cute little foot print in the sand.

Maddie was not quite ready to go back in yet. She loved playing in the sand.

We all got cleaned up and went out for dinner. We walked just a few blocks and found a great restaurant with some delicious food and fun friends.

We had a WONDERFUL time in South Padre. We are hoping to go back next year. Maddie really loved the bea(ch).
