First Real Snow

So, although we got snow on Thanksgiving, I did not really count it because it was not even an inch. That, people, is proof that I have been in the midwest for TOO LONG!!! What kind of a Houstonian doesn't count snow that sticks on the ground as real snow?! What is happening to me?!

Maddie and I woke up on Sunday morning (Daddy had to go in and round early) and I told her that it had snowed over night. While still half asleep, she asked me if it was pink snow. (at Thanksgiving, she asked if the snow was going to be purple). Sadly, I had to tell her the bad news - that it was just white snow. She was ok with that. We looked out the window and saw all the snow on the ground! She sat at the door and just looked at it saying "my like snow."

When Daddy came home, we all bundled up and went out to play. It was not too cold (in the 20's ... again ... what is happening to me?!) but there was a cold wind. Maddie just walked right out in it and had so much fun!

Daddy got out his awesome hat and embarrassed me (one day it will be Maddie).
Since Daddy was shoveling snow, Maddie wanted to, too. She went up to her sand box and got her tools and got to work helping daddy.

(That cold wind blowing on her face!)

After all the shoveling was over, we turned a trash can lid into a sled (snow car) for Maddie. She loved it!

It was hard getting her to come back in for lunch. Maddie had so much fun! While I still don't like the cold, I will miss weekend snows. It is fun taking Maddie out to play in the snow. I won't miss shoveling it or clearing it off my car, but I will miss powder snow on a Sunday morning. That is fun.
