Spring Break Part 2: Dallas

After meeting Summer for dinner, we went and got a little ice cream. Mmmmmm!
Too cute!
A little love for Pop Pop and Suze.
The next morning, Maddie woke up and played a little Angry Birds in bed ... it really is quite a life.
After all the play time with Willow and now all the fun with Sadie ... Mag was worn out.
That day, we met Aunt Summer in Dallas for some fun at the park. She had a gift for Miss Maddie to open. Little did she know, it was going to be the most perfect present EVER!
A Belle Beauty Beast Doll!!! Maddie did not put her down the whole time!

After all the playing, Maddie was exhausted. Sound asleep. She actually fell asleep in the car on the ride home and stayed that way (moved to a bed, of course) until 7:15 the next morning. Maddie needed the sleep, I think. It has been a busy few days. The next morning, we went back to the park to play and Maddie discovered dandelions. That was a lot of fun!
That morning, Nana came up to Dallas for a little visit. We thought a trip to the Botanical Gardens would be nice. Little did we know, it was perfect timing! The weather was perfect ... and it was a princess theme! They had a bunch of princess castles to explore. Can you believe that?! It was like they knew we were coming!
Maddie posed for a few cute shots.

Looked at the fish ....
ran around like crazy in the big grass field ...
Posed some more ...

The flowers were beautiful!

Splashed in some water
Maddie and Summer were so excited to go see the princess castles!
This photo is her father with long hair. Wow.
We went right to "Belle Beauty Beast's" castle. Maddie was SO excited! Maddie even had her Belle doll Summer had given her. It was perfect!

She loved this castle! It was all she talked about the rest of the trip!
We visited Rapunzel's castle next. Maddie found her door.
In Jack and the Bean Stalks house, Maddie found a window to open
Queen Maddie on the underwater throne.

Then we made it to Jasmine's house ... it was not so much a house as just some red metal sticks.
Maddie was in charge of directions. She was very good at reading the map. She gets that from her father!
Which princess house next?
I wanted to take a nice family photo ... and Miss Maddie was less that agreeable. Nick tried to coax her over and I ... well, apparently I just had a cranky look on my face.
We finally got something nice.

Maddie and Daddy were very silly - she said she was going to get him and well ...
Maddie and Nana had a wonderful time together looking at all the beautiful flowers.
That night, we took Nana to feed the ducks. We went looking for the egret, but it was not there.

Mommy made her Mexican Chocolate Cookies (from Amy's fabulous recipe!) and Maddie helped. She was the official taste tester. It is a tough job, but someone has to do it, right?!
Maddie said goodbye to her Uncle Andrew. She just LOVES him!
Best buds ...
We took Nana to the park for some play time.We had fun on the swings.

That afternoon, we went to the Dallas Aquarium. It was wonderful! There were some cute monkeys ...
And some cool birds. Maddie did not seem to trust this one.
More monkeys
A monkey and two beautiful girls.
We had a great time at the aquarium. It was great!
After all that hard work at the aquarium, we were really hungry, so we went out for a delicious dinner! Maddie found some stickers to play with and dressed us all up. Our waiter was a little confused.

The next morning, we woke up early and drove back home. We left sunny and 85 and returned home to a snow storm. We seriously got about 5 inches of snow. Yes, the title of this post is SPRING Break ... I don't know what to tell you.
We had a wonderful time in Texas and enjoyed the sunny warm weather.
