Hello all! Since I last blogged, life has kind of started to settle into a routine. Maddie is at school and loving it, I am back at work and loving it (although I do miss Maddie) and Nick is in a new year of work which has brought on a lot more call nights, but is also helping him to get time in pediatric surgery. Overall, all the Hamilton's are doing well.
Here are just a few new photos/videos of Maddie's adventures.
Maddie loves her sand box. What she loves most, though, is eating the sand. The only thing she likes more than the sand is the small pebbles in the mix. She has learned that if she uses the strainer, she can get rid of all the sand and just eat the pebbles. Strange ... but clever.

Maddie got her first ear infection ... two at once, though! Poor baby. We went to Walgreens to fill her prescription and decided just to wait for it to be filled. Maddie found the toy aisle, and well ... we had some fun. Maddie LOVES cars ... but there is something not quite right about this one.
We went to Daddy's softball game to cheer him on. It was a beautiful day! Maddie ran the bases with her Daddy after the game. Magnus was going a little nuts, so this is not the best quality video, but watch how she touches each base!
Well, one cold leads to another at daycare. Here is a cute and sad photo of Miss Maddie. She slept for 15 hours one night with a 4:30 wake up for more Tylenol. I think it was the best thing we could have done.

Even though she had a cold, we decided we needed to get out of the house and have some fun. I dressed Maddie in a cute fleece outfit (Fall is here!!) and we went to the park. We did not bring Magnus this time. We just had a fun time together on the playground. I tried to get a video because she was REALLY funny going down the slides, but it is hard to video and keep a hand close to her. I will have to wait until Nick can go with us next time. She really loves it, though.

That afternoon, Maddie found some bows. She kept putting them on her head, so I put them in her hair. She just loved having them on. In the video, you will see her check to make sure they are in the right spot. She is such a girl! Something else I have not videoed that will make her Aunt Summer proud is her LOVE of shoes. Every day, we change shoes at least once ... if not 5 times. She loves putting on all of her shoes. I hear Summer did the same thing. :)

This last video is to show you just how beautiful and smart Maddie is. You can see some of the things Maddie is learning at school and at home. I just wish she would say something!
(I think my wish for talking might be like my wish for walking ... ahhh ... I do miss those days before she was so quick and mobile ... I am sure I will miss the days of meng soon enough).
Here she is with her new favorite bag. She loves her New Zealand backpack. She puts it on and roams around with it. Too cute!

Later that night, we had a nice bath. She hung out in her bed in her robe. Pretty cute, huh?!

The next day, Maddie got her first hair cut. It needed the edges cleaned up. I might have taken a bit much off (especially on one side), but I think it looks cleaner. It needs to grow a little bit, but still looks cute. Her great grandma Hamilton said it was like a big girl's hair. She is right! And look at those natural highlights! (she looks a little sad because she is still sick in this photo - and she did not really want to be in her high chair anymore)

We went to visit Great Grandma Hamilton who was in for a doctor's visit. It was so nice spending a couple of hours with her. Maddie read her a book and gave her a bunch of dog toys. It was lots of fun!

(here is the back of Maddie's hair - she is looking down, so it looks a little shorter than it really is, but it is short! It is also uneven ... I need to clean it up a bit)

Oh I’ve missed your updates Melissa, but what a treat seeing pictures and videos of Maddie especially with a very sophiscated haircut. I love it. It accentuates her highlights which are so beautiful.
maddie is as darling and pretty as ever, especially with all the bows.
She is such a delight!
