Oregon Trail Part 2

So I spread everything out in Donna's basement and had to figure out how to get all this stuff into 5 bags for our flight ... and they needed to be under 50lbs.  I worked all day ...
... and managed to get most of it packed up into those 5 bags.  There is no way they are under 50lbs, but they are close.
On Tuesday morning, we woke up and got Oregon Trail Part 2 started!

At the airport, we met Lynn ... the most amazing ticketing agent ever.  She was so patient while I repacked all the bags and made them 50lbs.  After all that was said and done, she even offered to have Linda help me through security.  She was so wonderful.  She made the whole trip easier.

My girls are seasoned flyers and were so super cute on the flights.

Dear Mr. Jobs ... thank you ... sincerely, every parent who has ever traveled with children.  The iPad.  Greatest invention ever.

We were almost in Portland and we saw this out the window!  Wow.  Hello Mt. Hood.  We are here!

Thanks to Zsa Zsa I made it through the St. Louis airport with my sanity.  Thanks to Nana I made it through the Portland airport!  We had 5 bags, 2 car seats, 4 carry-ons, 2 children and 1 stroller.  If it weren't for those two grandmas, I am pretty sure I would have cried.  :)

I left the girls with Nana and hopped on a bus to go get my car that Nick had parked at long term parking.  The car seats were in black trash bags.  As I got on the bus with my trash bags, everyone looked at me like I was crazy.  It was really funny.

While I was gone, the girls watched the cars go by.  How sweet are these pictures.

We drove to our new house to drop our bags and then head to a hotel.  I laughed out loud when I got there.  It looked like a homeless person had been shacking up in our house.  Poor Nick slept in a sleeping bag for almost a week.
We slept in a hotel that night and then headed over to the house early the next morning to meet the truck with all our stuff ... all our stuff!!!  We have not had our stuff in two months.  It was a very exciting day!  Evelyn ate her breakfast ... on the floor.   Oh well.

I was upstairs organizing before the movers arrived and heard hysterical laughing.  I came downstairs to find Maddie and Nana entertaining Evelyn.  Too funny!

The movers arrived and opened the van ...

... things had shifted around but everything survived (well ... one piece of my vacuum broke ... but that was it!)

Evelyn found the walker that Maddie used at 11 months and just figured, why not start walking today at 8 months?!  She was doing really well.  I finally got it on video but got a little distracted by me talking to her, I think.  We are not encouraging this right now.  She can crawl for a little longer.  :)

We got everything moved into the house.  The house is great.  We live one block from the river and the house is just the right size.  We can't wait for everyone to come visit.  Visitors can stay in Maddie's room and Maddie can sleep on the futon in Evelyn's room.  Come on up to the Pacific Northwest!  It is beautiful!
