Animal Sounds

Maddie is talking up a storm at home, but gets very shy around other people ... even at school! Grandpa came over the other day and she would not say anything for him either. I thought I would secretly record her saying some of her words while she ate her yogurt.



Maddie can say:
yes
juice
shoes
cheese
woof woof
meow
moo
hi
I think there are a few more, but I can't remember them right now.

Maddie has had a little trouble with her words because of her chronic ear infections, poor thing. On January 25th, we will be heading to the hospital to get tubes put in her ears. As much as Nick and I did not want to do this, it seems like it is going to be the best thing for her in the long run. We hope that it will let her hear herself a little better and get her talking back on track. While she is making progress, we know she could be doing more if she could just hear herself better.

We will let everyone know how the procedure (I can't call it surgery without crying) goes. It should just be quick and pretty routine. I have said to Nick, though, that it is routine for surgeons but not for me. We are seeing a wonderful ENT (he is actually so specialized that he is actually just an E). We will let you all know how it all goes early next week.
