So, today was the big day ... Maddie got tubes put in her ears to help get rid of those terrible ear infections (we hope). It was an emotional ride for her parents (especially Momma) and just kind of an interesting one for Maddie. She had A LOT of fun!
We showed up at the hospital around 8:20 in our panda PJ's with Flat Lamb and The Bink (that is their super hero team name).

They weighed her (12.9 kgs or a little over 28 pounds ... we have dropped a few pounds during the last couple of colds).

Then we got ready for the big stuff! Look at that serious face ...

They gave her a new bracelet (she did not like it ... ugly and plastic ... not like her real jewelry!)

and then she watched a little TV.

Then they took her pulse ox with a really cool red light

and took her blood pressure. PS: she is being a doll the whole time! She has not said one word about anything. Everyone kept saying what a great patient she was.

Then, the nurse listened to Flat Lamb's heart beat ...

then she listened to Maddie's.

Then Maddie got to try out a gas mask. It smelled like strawberry and she kept licking it!

Then Flat Lamb tried the mask, too.

Then Maddie got some fun medicine to make her feel good ... and it did! She started roaming around the hospital finding all sorts of fun things to play with ...

Then, before they took her back, Maddie checked to make sure her paperwork was in order.

Then she laid down because she was feeling a little sleepy.

Then, some very nice people in Daddy's outfit came and walked her down the hallway. We walked with her for a little while and she had no problem going with them. She is very brave. Her mother was not. (I am actually tearing up just looking at that photo)

After only 17 minutes of being away from us, I heard my baby's cry. They came and got us and she took a turn in Momma's arms ...

and Daddy's.

She is doing great! The doctor said everything looked good. He said that her ear drums were filled with thick liquid which means we did the right thing. That makes me feel so much better. He said that she may be a little more sensitive to sound because all of a sudden she can hear. Magnus is at doggie daycamp today.
So, Madeleine did a wonderful job and we hope this helps her feel better.
