Bringing in the New Year in Dallas

Maddie and I flew out to Dallas and met Daddy. Maddie was so excited to see her Daddy.

We went to visit Uncle Jorge and Carrie and their little girls Annabel and Ava. Maddie dressed up her Uncle Jorge ... he is so pretty!
I had a little baby time with Baby Ava.
... and so did Maddie. Maddie LOVED LOVED LOVED spending time with Baby Ava. She was patting her head saying "Baby soft."
Maddie had a great time spending time with her Pop Pop and Suze.
Nick and I went to a New Year's wedding and left Maddie with her grandparents. They had a wonderful time saying "happy new year" and trying on all sorts of hats. The best part, however, came just after bed time. Pop Pop went in to check on his peewee. Well ... she was not in her bed. He started to panic a little and then heard a noise in the bathroom, lit only by a dim night light. Maddie has obviously developed a sixth sense during her time with Summer and Katie. Even in the dark, having never been in their bathroom, Madeleine Claire Hamilton was able to find Suze's make up. They found her sitting on the make up chair, putting liquid eye liner all over her lips. Pop Pop called Suze in and they proceeded to remove the goth make up from their beautiful granddaughter. Their afterthought was, we should have taken a picture ... but I think they made the right choice!
