The first thing we saw were the ground hogs. They had a really cool way of getting up close to them. You would crawl up a tunnel and you were right in the middle of the action.
Yes - my belly and I somehow crawled up into one of these TEEEEEENNNNNNY tiny tunnels and snapped a shot. It was really cute!
After wandering around for a little bit, we came back to the middle area with the sea lions. They were about to have a feeding/show. It was wonderful. Maddie loved every second. We were so close to them.
Another thing Maddie has been asking to do is go to a farm (she saw camping and farms on Sesame Street). Who would have thought that Maddie would go camping and to a farm in New York City?! The zoo had a great farm feeding area - they even had a barn!
Maddie pet the sheep and goats. They were so sweet.
Then we went outside and fed them too! Maddie was over the moon!
Even Alec got in on the action
Here is a little video of Maddie feeding the goats. She had such a great time with them!
As we walked out, there was a milking station. Well ... let me tell you ... this was THE event of the day. She was so excited about this! She said it was her favorite part of her day.
Our final activity was drawing a picture of our day. Maddie drew a cow.
Amy gave Maddie a piggie-back ride back to the car while I strollered Alec. Too cute!
After a little quiet time at home, we walked down the pier and went to the carousel. Maddie was so excited ... Alec was not sure what he thought about it!
After the carousel, it was time for more ice cream, of course! We went to a famous Brooklyn ice cream shop. Everything was delicious!
Maddie and Amy taste tested each others ice cream, of course, just to make sure that everyone had something delicious. We all decided Maddie's strawberry was the best.
Even Alec had a taste!
Maddie set this picture up. She told me that we should go around and pretend we are trapped. It was really funny.
This was the end of our trip. It was a wonderful week full of fun and giggles. Thank you Amy, Alec and Manish for having us! It was a perfect trip!
