School has started and we are back on a more regular routine. Maddie is LOVING first grade and can't wait to go to school every day. On Saturday she asked me how much longer until she could go back to school. She obviously gets that from her father. :)
Look! Evelyn magically finished her chicken! I looked away for a minute and then she told me she was all done ("awe" is how she says it). She almost had me.
After the first week of school, we thought we should celebrate by going to the Children's Museum. They were vets ...
and of course went shopping ...
This was last year at the same time same place ...
What a difference a year makes!
Maddie dressed Evelyn up as a warrior butterfly. Why not?
Doing their make up in the dress up area.
Our beautiful girls
Evelyn loves babies
That weekend we decided to head to OMSI for some Sunday morning fun. Maddie held a walking stick.
The girls pretended to be baby eagles.
Played in the sand and finally the water (no pictures because it is always totally crazy in there!)
We cleaned out Maddie's closet of all the smaller clothes (to make way for her new stuff!) and Maddie dressed Evelyn up and she loved it!
Then she needed to relax for a bit in her heels ...
...and Maddie decided she needed a wand, an iPod and a purse. Why not?
Maddie has been begging to take the bus. I finally decided it makes a lot of sense, so we are letting her take the bus in the mornings. She was so excited! We walked up two blocks to our stop and met a bunch of friends! Look at that happy face!
We waited (Evelyn is yelling no about having her picture taken ... it is very early and she doesn't have any make up on!).
And off she went! At dinner she said it was her favorite part of the day. Hooray!
Beautiful dress with tennis shoes - so she "can run away from the boys." Yep.
Evelyn and I decided it was time to do a major clean in Maddie's room. We found lots of jewels that Evelyn happily modeled.
Dressing up on a regular day ... why not?
We went to the park to play one day after school and had a little picnic. I wanted a nice picture of the girls because they looked so sweet together and this is what I got. This photo is our official paternity test for Maddie. Look at Nick's face right there!
Weekend trip to the zoo! We decided to indulge in an elephant ear (fried dough with butter and cinnamon and sugar! Yum!!)
You know how when you kid says they don't want to go and sits down and you say "fine, I'm leaving though. Bye Bye!" ... well that doesn't work for this kid. She just says "byeeeee" and then happily stays there. I could seriously leave and she wouldn't care at all.
In a box ... why not. She is a lego by the way.
Evelyn loves to sing Row Row Row Your Boat
