Well, I let my principal know today that I would like to take one year off from teaching and stay home with Maddie. I was so happy when she hugged me and said that she was sad to lose me but was glad for me. All of the mommies I have talked to are very happy for me and have really encouraged me to do this. I am excited to be able to spend this time with Maddie. It will be hard not working. I really LOVE my job and can't imagine doing anything else. I am excited about this year, though. I know I will miss my classroom, but I know I would miss Maddie more!
The icing on the cake is that I will be able to earn my masters degree in Educational Technology during just one year, rather than spreading it out over several. This will help me stay in the education loop and will also improve my skills as a teacher. I will be even better when I do come back!
This is exciting news. Life will be very different now, but I know I will look back on this year and be so glad I did it!
