New York Weekend

(Unfortunately, my camera was not charged before our trip and so all of the photos are from my iPhone.)

When Nick and I travel together, we always run into trouble. We got to the St. Louis airport only to find that our flight from Chicago to NYC was canceled. We were able to make another flight with a little bit of a delay. It was fine, though, because we were able to spend a little time in the Chicago airport and have lunch.

Daddy turned Maddie's bib into a cape and Maddie flew through the Chicago airport.

We finally made it to NYC and Amy had Maddie's bed all ready for her. (It is a paddle pool!! It is actually a perfect baby bed).

Maddie slept very well in her fancy blow up bed. :)

We had a quick TexMex meal and then all went to bed. It was a long day.

The next day, Amy and Manish came over to our Brooklyn abode and we went into the city for a little shopping. Maddie fell asleep on the drive into the city and stayed asleep for about 3 hours through all the noise of the city. She is a great sleeper. Jackhammers and people yelling did not wake her up!

We drove back home across the Brooklyn Bridge. (It was hard to get a photo of Maddie on the bridge)

That night was absolutely beautiful, so Aunty Amy, Daddy and I all went to a beer garden down the street from the Brooklyn apartment. It was so nice. Park Slope is a great little family area.

(I think Maddie wants the big beer!)

That night we had dinner at a great sushi restaurant. Everyone who worked there just LOVED Maddie. They were oohing and awwing over her. They even held her while we ate dinner. It was great. (The photos are a bit dark)

The next day was the big day ... the Cardinals vs. Mets game! Daddy got Maddie ready in her Cardinals gear and we headed to the game.

We grabbed a slice of New York pizza (that means big and greasy!) in Queens and hopped on the subway. I am sure Maddie's immune system has been exposed to some pretty major germs now! :)

I was annoyed that the smallest Cardinals outfits were for babies that were 3 -6 months and not any younger. I now know why they do that ... because nobody should take a baby that young to a baseball game. We got the Shae Stadium and very quickly realized that it was going to be a little too loud for a 3 month old. Maddie and I watched the game from the food court. We decided to leave when it looked like it was going to rain. We won't talk about the score. :(

We then went home to Amy and Manish's house in Long Island and ate dinner and hung out. Aunty Amy gave Maddie big cuddles and read her her favorite book (Panda Bear, Panda Bear, What do you see?).

I won't go through the terrible details of our trip home, but I will tell you that it took us 12 hours to get home to St. Louis. I should have taken 5 even with the stop over in Chicago. Nick was not pleased. Luckily, we were able to stay in the American Airlines lounge (thank you American Express card!). Maddie was naked because she pooped on her outfit. Daddy changed her on the plane on a food cart ... quite a sight. I don't have pictures of that because it was a two person poop. :)

We finally made it home. I do not think Nick will be taking another trip any time soon. Nick and Maddie are glad to be back relaxing in their own home.
