Maddie, Finn, Antonia, Jack, Christie, Margie, Trudy, Nana and I all went to the zoo for a wonderful day (and beautiful weather!).
When we got there, we found out it was actually Alice in Wonderland day and they had some people on stilts blowing bubbles???
Then we were off to see the animals.
We saw a momma and baby giraffe (side note: based on the shadows, you are probably thinking it is around 9AM or 4PM … it is 11AM … like almost noon … we are very far south and so the sun never goes right overhead … it just kind of goes around us … you always think it is later than it is … maybe that is why our current bedtime is 8PM).
There was lots of hand holding.
Maddie just loved Antonia.
Finn was NOT going to hold hands, though.
Looks like Africa with the hippo in the front and the rhino in the back ... all but the native New Zealand trees in the way. :)
Maddie and Finn bonded over the coolest thing at the zoo … a bulldozer.
Finn decided that Maddie was pretty cool, then, so he held her hand.
Then Maddie had the standard NZ outing meal – ice block and hot chips (French fries).
Delicious!
After a snack, Maddie and Finn ran around chasing the birds.
Maddie just ran and ran and ran.
We had a wonderful trip to the zoo.
